The information in this section guides you through account opening workflows, account funding procedures, and client account access. We recommend you review this information prior to opening an account.

Your client’s account number, investment model, fee, and additional account information can be accessed from the Portfolio Audit Application. To access your client’s account number, login to CLSinvest.com, click on the Portfolio Audit Application, and search for your client’s last name.

Retrieving Account Numbers

  • You will receive an email once the account has been established. You can then call 888-455-4244, email clientserviceteam@clsinvest.com, or login to CLSinvest.com to retrieve the client’s account number.
  • Account numbers can also be accessed online by logging in to CLSinvest.com, clicking on the “Portfolio Audit” application, and searching for your client’s last name.

Account Transfers

Clients Transferring from Existing Account
When you reach the signature portion of the account opening process, you or your client will be asked to provide:

  • The name, address, and phone number of the firm the client is transferring the account from
  • The client’s current account number
  • Firm name the account is transferring from
  • Firm address the account is transferring from
  • Firm phone number

Note: The account type must match the account being transferred (i.e. IRA to IRA). Not all firms accept e-signature transfer forms. Your client may need to sign hard copy transfer forms as an alternative. 

Clients Transferring from Banking Account
When transferring from their bank account, the client will need to provide:

  • Name on Bank Account
  • Bank Name
  • Bank Account Number
  • Bank Routing Number

Clients Opening Account Via Check

  • Make the check out to “TD Ameritrade FBO (client name)”
  • Client’s newly established account number should be written on the check
  • Account numbers can be obtained by calling CLS Investments at (888) 455-4244. account numbers can also be accessed online by logging into clsinvest.com, clicking on the Portfolio Audit application, and searching for your clients last name.
  • Mail the check to:

Account Transfer

The list below includes firms currently allowing e-signature on transfer forms. If the account is transferring from a firm not on the list, the client will be required to sign a hard copy Transfer Form and Signature Verification Form. The Autopilot system allows you to download the forms when hard copies are required, or you can download them here.

Accessing Client Portals

Step-by-Step Client Instructions:

Once your client’s account has been opened, he or she will receive access to his or her client portal using the following instructions.

  • Establish a username and password here: http://login.orionadvisor.com
  • Click the “Create Login” link on the right side of your screen
  • Enter the required information and select a username and password
  • Once your credentials have been established, you will login to your account at anytime by visiting advisorlynx.com

Once your clients’ accounts have been funded, they’ll have access to various reports showing how their account has been allocated. Their account statements will also be posted each quarter directly to their portal. To access account reports and statements, clients can click the “Documents” tab and select the report or statement they would like to download from the left-side column.

Step-by-Step Instructions for Advisors to Access Client Portals:

  • Login to your advisor dashboard at CLSinvest.com
  • Click on the “Client Portal” application
  • Search for your client’s last name
  • Click “Launch”
  • Download statements

As the advisor, you’ll have access to view your individual clients’ portals. Client portal access allows you to download client statements, schedule contributions or withdrawals online for your clients, or view your clients general account information. Accessing Account Data

Your advisor portal allows you to easily navigate to pertinent client account data. Single sign-on applications provide you with everything from account opening to client reporting. Below is a sample of what you will have access to with your advisor portal.

Allows you to view what your clients see when they access their client portal. In this app, you can log directly into your client’s portal to view account allocations, download statements, and see model performance.
